NSRLM conducts alumni meet for rural youths trained through DDU-GKY

Dimapur, September 28 (MExN): The Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) conducted the alumni meet for the rural youths trained through DDU-GKY in Mumbai on September 24 and in Goa on September 26. 

The team led by Imtimenla, Joint Secretary and Mission Director NSRLM, the event aimed to foster the trained and working youths to connect them with one another and the Naga Organisations in the cities for support, stated a press release received here. 

During the event one of the beneficiaries of DDUGKY, Konyak said, “I dropped out of school early and so I was helping my parents in the field but it was not easy then I got the opportunity to get trained under DDU-GKY.” Konyak added, “Today I have a career and I can help my parents with whatever small amount I can save. I thank the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India and NSRLM, Government of Nagaland for giving the rural youths an opportunity to get trained as per market demand.”

During the programme, the Mission Director emphasised the beneficiaries of DDU-GKY to be consistent in their jobs. The working youths were also encouraged to be an ambassador of the Nagas in general and perform their duties diligently.

It was also advised that they participate in Naga fellowship and assured them of assistance in every possible way whenever required.
Along with the working youths, the programmes were attended by NCF pastor Mumbai and NSU Mumbai and the Nagaland Association President Goa and Nagaland Association Fellowship Goa for prayers and exhortation.
