KOHIMA, DECEMBER 11 (MExN): The Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) and the MSME Promotion Council of India (MSME-PCI), Nagaland Chapter, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote rural entrepreneurship and enhance livelihood opportunities in the state.

NSRLM, a leading rural resilience and prosperity programme in Nagaland, has empowered 1.13 lakh rural women across all 17 districts. The Mission enables rural households to access sustainable livelihood opportunities by strengthening community institutions, particularly women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs), higher-level federations, collectives and cooperatives. Its interventions focus on income enhancement through self-employment, skill development, enterprise promotion, value-chain development, market linkages and improved access to financial services.

The MSME Promotion Council of India, Nagaland Chapter, works to support and develop Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises across the state, facilitating business growth, enterprise expansion, skill upgradation and access to local, national and international markets. The Council also connects entrepreneurs with banks, financial institutions, policymakers and industry stakeholders, with a special focus on assisting youth and women entrepreneurs to strengthen the MSME ecosystem in Nagaland.

The partnership aims to empower rural communities, particularly women and youth, by improving access to market linkages, skills training and financial services.

“This collaboration is expected to open new avenues for promoting high-value products of rural entrepreneurs to global markets,” said Moa Sangtam, Joint Secretary, Rural Development, and Mission Director, NSRLM.

“We believe this partnership will facilitate business growth and enterprise expansion with better access to local, national and international markets, thereby strengthening the MSME ecosystem in the state,” said Lanuakum Jamir, State Chairman, MSME-PCI Nagaland Chapter.
