Zunheboto, September 10 (MExN): A Truenat machine was installed at CHC Aghunato under the initiative of National Tuberculosis Eradication Programme (NTEP) CMO office, Zunheboto on September 10.
Dr Y Aron Muru, District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO) Zunheboto stated that the machine was recently purchased by the NTEP, given the fact that only one machine was allotted to the district, and according to the location wise CHC Aghunato was given priority and preference.
He urged the district administration of the sub-division, community leaders and church leaders to disseminate about the new machine to the public of Aghunato sub-division and avail the facility free of cost without having to test out of the district.
He stated that the machine diagnosis is rapid and extremely accurate which can run up to 32-48 samples of multiple diseases such as COVID-19, Tuberculosis, HIV and Hepatitis and gives out result in span of two hours.
He gave a brief overview on Tuberculosis causes, symptoms and treatment and further elaborated on the scheme Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan which is a nutrition support for TB patients.
Mhashumi Ezung, EAC Aghunato delivered a short speech. She appreciated and thanked the District Health Society Zunheboto for the effort in bringing the machine which was necessity in the sub division. She stated that being the largest sub-division in the district, this machine will be beneficial not only for Aghunato town but for all the surrounding villages within the sub division.
Vikishe Awomi, Chairman HCMC also delivered a short speech. The programme was chaired by Dr Kipito Awomi, MO CHC Aghunato with invocation by Atovi Chophy Pastor ATBC (SBAK Nito Mount) and benediction by Vitoho Sumi, Pastor Aghunato (SBAK Aizuto-B).
