Dimapur, September 20 (MExN): The Nagaland Tribal Hohos Coordination Committee (NTHCC) has called on all Naga Political Groups (NPGs) to unite under the initiative of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) to achieve an early and amicable resolution of the protracted Indo-Naga political issue. In a press statement issued after a coordination meeting held at Hotel Japfu, Kohima on September 20, the NTHCC said it “strongly urges all NPGs to unite in the spirit of reconciliation and togetherness.”
The committee announced its endorsement of the FNR’s effort to bring all NPGs onto a single machang (common platform). It also reaffirmed the Ungma Statement, issued during the meeting of the Council of Naga Cooperation and Relationship (CNCR) initiated by the FNR on August 23, 2025. The Ungma Statement brought together the Naga tribal hohos, NPGs, and the FNR and calls for the convergence of all NPGs, with the full support of the tribal hohos, to articulate and pursue a shared vision based on the historical and political rights of the Naga people.
The NTHCC comprises the Angami Public Organisation, Ao Senden, Chakhesang Public Organisation, Lotha Hoho, Pochury Hoho, Rengma Hoho, Sümi Hoho, and Nagaland Zeliang People’s Organisation. The statement was signed by Thejao Vehienuo, Convenor, and Dr. Vihuto Asumi, Sessional Secretary.
