DIMAPUR, AUGUST 16 (MExN): The Nagaland Transparency, Public Rights Advocacy and Direct Action Organization (NTPRADAO) has strongly condemned the alleged involvement of NDPP youth leader Enoch S Wotsa in “smuggling” IMFL.
Wotsa, a nominated councillor of the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), was arrested along with his associates at Khatkhati in Assam on August 13, for allegedly “smuggling” crates of liquor, the organisation said in a statement.
The NTPRADAO lauded the Central Youth Organization of the NDPP and the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) for condemning Wotsa’s actions, saying both parties have set an example by taking a stand on the matter of moral turpitude.
“Nobody, whether high or mighty, will be spared for committing crime,” the statement said.
The organisation further demanded Wotsa’s suspension as DMC councillor and urged law enforcement agencies to ensure strict action against all accused in the case. “This will send out a strong message that law and justice are equal for everyone in Nagaland,” it added.
