NTPRADAO-PJ flays PWD Minister over IAS induction comment

Dimapur, November 2 (MExN): The Nagaland Transparency Public Rights Advocacy & Direct Action Organisation (People’s Justice), NTPRADAO-PJ, has criticised PWD Minister G Kaito Aye for his comments on the ongoing pen-down strike by the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) regarding IAS induction.

In a statement issued on November 1, NTPRADAO-PJ described the Minister’s remarks as “insensitive” and said they hurt the “moral sentiments and good conscience of the overwhelming majority of the Naga populace.”

The organisation expressed concern that the remarks were made at a time when Naga citizens were “desperately seeking justice for future generations.”

NTPRADAO-PJ specifically questioned Aye’s statement urging the JCC not to allow public offices and services to be “overshadowed by agitation.”

The organisation alleged that the government had been “insensitive and unrelenting” towards the welfare of its officials, while allegedly favouring back-door appointments, despite more than two weeks of continuous protest by the JCC.

The statement also lauded the contributions of the Chümoukedima Naga Town Council (CNTC) and Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) for openly supporting the JCC’s demands, despite potential external pressures.

NTPRADAO-PJ called upon civil society organisations, intellectuals, writers, and concerned citizens to reflect on “their inner conscience” and extend support to the JCC cause until an amicable resolution is reached.
