DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 10 (MExN): The Naga Tribal Union Chümoukedima Town (NTUCT) has decided to disallow the upcoming police training for new recruits at the Police Training School (PTS) and Nagaland Armed Police Training Centre (NAPTC) scheduled to begin from February 14.

A press release from union claimed that about 1,200 new recruits would be coming for the training. It however said that “except for the 208 candidates who were selected through open recruitment rally conducted on November 15, 16 and 18, 2019, no other candidate will be allowed to take part in the upcoming training."

It further asked the concerned authority to “satisfactorily justify” as to when and where such a large number of recruits were selected through open recruitment, along with facts, figures and official references of post advertisements.

“We have nothing against our youth who were selected, but any backdoor appointment shall not be allowed. We have no grudges or ill feelings against anybody, but firmly stand to oppose violation of norms and established systems,” it added.

It therefore asked the State Government and the concerned authority to put on hold the proposed training indefinitely until the confusion is settled.
