Lumami, April 14 (MExN): “Campus to Parliament: Inspiring the Next Generation of Women Leaders” set the tone for a programme on the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam held at Nagaland University on April 13, spotlighting the need to empower women and expand their role in leadership and decision-making.
The programme drew around 150–200 participants, including women faculty, non-teaching staff, research scholars, and undergraduate and postgraduate students, who actively engaged in the discussions, infoeemd a press release from the University.
Organised to strengthen awareness on gender equality and leadership, the event was led by Prof Kilangla Jamir, Dean, School of Science, and Prof Wangshimenla, Dean of Students’ Welfare.
A key highlight was the adoption of a resolution reaffirming a collective commitment to building a just, inclusive, and progressive society, where women are equal partners in shaping the nation’s future.
Participants also took a pledge to uphold equality, dignity, and empowerment, and to support greater representation of women in leadership roles in line with the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, the release said.
The programme concluded with a renewed resolve to advance gender equality and nurture the next generation of women leaders, it added.
