Longleng, August 9 (MExN): A four-day district visitation from August 6 to 9 was conducted by the State Team of the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) to monitor, supervise, and assess the implementation of NVBDCP activities in Longleng district.
According to the District Health Society Longleng, the team inspected all health units, including the District Hospital Longleng, to cross-check reports and re-orient healthcare workers on relevant programmes. The review included checking stock registers, providing updated training for laboratory technicians on Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs), and holding a consultative meeting with frontline health workers at the CMO Conference Hall, Longleng.
The State Team encouraged the district to work towards achieving the malaria elimination certification target and commended the efforts of the district and NVBDCP staff for maintaining zero malaria cases for the past seven years (2019–2025).
The team was led by Dr. Tinurenla Anichar, Deputy Director, NVBDCP, along with State Consultants and district staff from Mokokchung and UVBDS, Dimapur.
