Office procedures training for NPS officers underway at ATI Kohima

Training programme on Basic Office Procedures for six Nagaland Police Service (Probationary) officers began at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) on August 22.

Kohima, August 23 (MExN): A five-day training programme on Basic Office Procedures for six Nagaland Police Service (Probationary) officers began at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) on August 22.

The training, which will conclude on August 26, aims to equip the officers with fundamental knowledge and skills for efficient performance in their work environment, stated a press release.

The curriculum covers key administrative topics such as File Management, Noting & Drafting, the National Pension System, the Nagaland Government Servants’ Conduct Rules 1968, and Pay fixation.

The course is coordinated by Dr S Rongsen Longkumer, Joint Director of ATI. Training sessions will be facilitated by experienced resource persons from various departments of the Nagaland Government.

The inauguration programme featured a session with V Shashank Shekhar, IAS, Director General of ATI. 

Addressing the officers, Shekhar highlighted the Nagaland Police's “proud tradition of dedication, commitment and hard work,” noting their exceptional performance both within the state and on deployment elsewhere for various duties.

He also emphasised the critical issue of protecting the younger generation from substance abuse, advising the officers to utilise a dual approach of awareness creation and enforcement. Additionally, he urged them to stay updated with the latest scientific knowledge and technology to enhance their investigative work.

The session was also attended by N Moa Longkumer, Joint Director of ATI, and Lithrila Sangtam, Under Secretary of the P&AR department.
