Kohima, February 18 (DIPR): The Government of Nagaland has appointed observers for all the eleven Districts for conducting Inspections vide Home Department (GAB-I) office order No.GAB-I/Census/219 Dated 14th February 2011.
The list of Officers appointed as Observers are as follows: T.C.Sangtam, Secretary, DUDA – Longleng; Zhaleo Rio, Secretary, PHED – Zunheboto; K.T. Sukhalu, Secretary, F&CS, IT – Wokha; N.Putsure, Secretary, Urban Development – Phek; Elusing Meru, Secretary, Forest – Tuensang; B.Thawang Konyak, Secretary,I&FC – Kiphire; Bendang Longchari, Secretary,YR&s – Kohima; N.Hushili Sema, Secretary, Women Development – Mon; Yantsowo Lotha, Secretary, Soil & Water – Mokokchung; Bendangkokba, Secretary, School Education – Peren; B.P.Chetri, Secretary, Horticulture – Dimapur; Y.Kikon, Secretary, Science & Tech. – Reserve.
A briefing session was convened for all these observers in the office chamber of Home Commissioner at New Secretariat, Kohima. In the briefing session, the Director, Census Operations, Hekali Zhimomi, IAS explained the Household Schedules along with the work they are supposed to do while inspecting the filled-in Schedules by the Enumerators. She also briefed them about the check points which they will consider during their field visits.
The above observers will be making surprise visit to any of the villages under the respective District and inspect the no. of persons enumerated by the enumerator in a particular Household and confirm the same by applying different checks as well as through the respondents. This arrangement by the State Govt. of Nagaland has been specially done to ensure that all the Enumerators should record the correct & accurate no. of persons as well as other information being asked. The briefing session was chaired by Home Commissioner, Nagaland, J.Alam, IAS. This was stated in a press release by Research Officer, Census Department, R.N. Chhipa.
