Officials trained on census procedures, digital tools in Nagaland

Chümoukedima, April 19 (MExN): A two-day district and charge officer training programme on Census 2027 concluded at the Deputy Commissioner’s office conference hall in Chümoukedima on April 18.

Deputy Commissioner Polon John, NCS, said the district would face several crucial tasks during the census operation and stressed the need for coordination and mutual support among officials.

The second day focused on field-level implementation and operational procedures, including self-enumeration, preparation of village, town and charge registers, and detailed training on census concepts and definitions.

Officials were also briefed on Household Listing Operations (HLO) questionnaire items to ensure accuracy in data collection.

Participants received hands-on training on the District Census Handbook (DCHB) process through web portals and mobile applications to enhance digital data management.

The programme concluded with a valedictory session, where participants emphasised preparedness, coordination and collective effort for the successful conduct of Census 2027, noting the critical role of district administration in ensuring accuracy.
