Old Riphyim Baptist Church celebrates 75 yrs

Dimapur, November 10 (MExN): The Old Riphyim Baptist Church celebrated its 75 years (1936-2011) from November 5 to 6, 2011 with the theme “The Lord Is Our Banner” Ex.17:15. A press note issued by K.Nribemo Ezung, Jubilee Chairman, Old Riphyim Baptist Church, Wokha stated that the Jubilee celebration started with the inauguration and unveiling of the Jubilee stone by Rev. Dr. E. Nrio Ezung, executive secretary, KBES followed by dedication of the Jubilee bandal (hall) by Rev. M.Tsanglao, Missionary-at-large, KBES.
The note mentioned that the main speakers for the Jubilee were Rev. Dr. E. Nrio, ES, KBES, Rev. N. Jonah, Pastor Diphubar ‘B’, LBC, Dimapur and Rev. L.K.Tsanglao, Missionary-at-large, WTBC. The programme also included a word of greetings from Y.Patton, Parliamentary Secretary Geology & Mining, Irrigation & Flood Control & Border Affairs, Nagaland and C.M Chang, M.P (Lok Sabha). Exhortations were delivered by Rev. Rhyutsemo Ngullie, Pastor Tsungiki village and Evangeline, Education Secy. NBCC. The Jubilee witnessed a turn up of about 1500 delicates from various Village Churches and own villagers from other towns and cities. A special time of prayer invoking God’s blessings for the host villagers was taken by Rev. Yankey Patton, Missionary to Arunachal Pradesh.
For the host village, the Jubilee celebration actually began with a special programme from November 3 led by ORBC Pastor Y. Chumben Patton and Associate Pastor, S. Kilo Kithan. The Platinum Jubilee came to an end on the 6th evening with the solemn candle light service led by Rev. L.K Tsanglao. The Jubilee officials were represented by K. Nribemo Ezung as Chairman, Z. John Patton as vice chairman, Khotsemo Patton as secretary, E. Benri Patton as assistant secretary and R.Ben Tungoe as the treasurer.
