‘Older people are privileged and special people’

Kiphire | October 1 : The International Day of Older Persons was celebrated at Kiphire in Hopongkyu memorial hall which was organised by District Welfare office Kiphire under the theme ‘Health care for senior citizens’.
Speaking at the occasion Namang Sepong Chang, EAC HQ said that older persons are a blessing and therefore, seeks blessing so that the younger generation will have blessings. He said that they are all privileged and special people and called upon the older people to bless the younger generation with right path. He also dealt on the schemes and programmes which the older persons are entitled to get from government agencies.
Tsathrongo GB Kiphire town who spoke on the occasion said, “When we reflect our self of our younger days we have commit many short comings but am sure God will forgive for all those things we have committed.” He also called upon his contemporary saying, “by the grace of God we are still alive today healthy so during our short life on earth we should all do the best what we can so that the generation blessed through us. Nitovi Sumi CDPO i/c DWO in the key note address citing an example of some righteous man  said that ‘the more you do good things the more blessings is’ and asked the older person to do good during one’s life time.
Beside presenting special gift to four person- Thsatila, Kavili, S Huven, and Yangkuba, free medical check-up and distribution of other gifts to all the older person were the highlight of the day. Students of Agape School presented a special song and recite scripture on the occasion.
