The programme for healing and reconciliation movement is all set to start today, with hectic preparation all along the week, but the common people on the road seems quite unaware of this noble movement, as most of the people whom this reporter met and asked for opinion feigned ignorance of such a program. However, some people when told about it, was all praise for it.
“It’ll definitely bring some changes” said Rose Kikon a class 11 student of DBHSS while her friend nodded her head saying “no comment” A salesgirl said, “Of course, especially among the youngsters………. [the] factions also”.
Dr. Tali of Faith Hospital, was all for it. “People have been yearning for such a movement to take place. It’s been in the minds of everyone as everyone is talking about unity. It’ll surely bring some changes…..I am for it.”
Miss. Watila, a teacher in EHSS had some reservation when she said, “it’s [the programme] is very good, but I hope that it would achieve its real objective that is to bring understanding, love and peace in our land, not just spiritual healing”.
However the stage is set for the programme and everyone is praying for its great success that peace and unity may prevail in our state. It is one of a kind programme which has much public support. The NBCC along with other NGOs finally took this initiative after seeing the “the diverse conflicts and self-defeating divisions”. Surely, “trusting in the power of the risen Lord to address the conflicting issues in the state”, as said by Rev. Kari Longchar might bear some fruits.
