MOKOKCHUNG, SEPTEMBER 24 (MExN): The Mokokchung Police has arrested one person in connection with the murder of a woman on September 13. A press release from the PRO, DEF, Mokokchung identified the accused as one Aowati (44 years). “The accused has admitted to committing the crime,” the release said, while adding that the victim was murdered on the wee hours of September 13.
The arrest comes after the Mokokchung Police formed an SIT to investigate the murder. The deceased victim (name withheld) was reported missing by her husband on September 14. Her dead body was later found by police near the District Jail. A case of murder was registered at the Women Police Station and Special Investigation Team was subsequently instituted to investigate the case.
