One person was killed in a road mishap, which occurred in a landslide prone area of NH 2, near Chukitong, Wokha district, on June 13. The deceased victim, an employee of the Agriculture Department, was proceeding to Mokokchung from Kohima.
According to the Wokha police, there were two conflicting versions of how the tragic mishap occurred. One version stated that the ill-fated vehicle lost traction on the muddy road and rammed the cliff. The other version said that rocks fell on top of the vehicle. He was declared dead in hospital. The police said that the victim’s wife survived.
