Dimapur, January 24 (MExN): Commemorating the National Girl Child day, One Stop Centre (OSC) conducted awareness programme under the banner of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.
OSC is integrated with the Women Helpline 181 with State Resource Centre for Women under the Department of Social Welfare as the implementing agency.
In Nagaland, currently there are two OSC. The Dimapur centre in collaboration with Sisterhood Network, Dimapur organized an awareness programme at Bethel Baptist School, Old Showuba. Awareness was generated on the inequalities faced by girls in the society. OSC and Sisterhood Network introduced their Centre and their services. A demonstration on Child Abuse the “good touch & bad touch” was also depicted.
The OSC, Kohima organized a programme for Children at the Anganwadi Centre, A.G. Colony. The team highlighted the significance of the occasion and interacted with the children, development group activities and games were conducted. The team also sensitized the Parents who were also present about the Centre and the services.
MWS students and faculty members of North East Institute of Social Science and Research (NEISSR) with others during the commemoration of National Girl Child Day on January 24 at NEISSR conference hall, Dimapur. Dr. Toli H. Kiba, Assistant Professors and Dr. Fr. C.P. Anto, Principal of NEISSR spoke on the importance of commemorating Girl Child day.
