Dimapur, August 26 (MExN): Online commodity trading company North East Naga Traders (NNT) Pvt. Limited opened its corporate office in Dimapur located today. The office was inaugurated by Principal Agriculture Commissioner, HK Khulu along with the launch of its website. NNT is commencing its franchise service with 10 franchisees starting from Dimapur, and will later expand to other major districts. The company will enter the market with agriculture and essential commodity exchange and retail by setting up chain stores for local produce. NNT will also deal in gold and silver savings.
Agriculture Commission Khulu expressed confidence that NNT will bring farmers closer to the global market. Stating that one of the weakest links in agriculture in Nagaland is marketing, Khulu said that NNT has taken a major step to improve the agriculture sector. He added that the government is focused on the agriculture sector as 80% of the population is dependent on it.
Khulu further expressed happiness that the Indian Commodity Exchange (ICEX is going to set up trigger boards in all the APMCs across the state. The trigger boards will display the global market rates of all commodities in the market. Khulu said although online trading is a new concept for Nagas particularly the farms, he hoped in time everything will sink in and get organized.
