Sirs,
Next to Underground factions, Transport Department is the highest money extorting department in Nagaland. This Department with your defective policy is extorting money in huge amount through its 5% registration fee of vehicle price and now its HSRP System being compulsorily introduced in the State which is violative of Civil and individual liberty.
Therefore your attention is hereby drawn to the following points:
1. Vehicle registration fee is abnormally too high which is a naked extortion of public money. The fee should be at nominal rate and can be made compulsory to register with the State R.T.O. whether brand new or secondhand vehicles brought to State from other States for Security reason and easy identification of own State and outside vehicles.
2. The H.S.R.P. System introduced compulsorily even to the Private Cars is violative of individual liberty and right to choice. At the most, Police can be instructed by the Government/ R.T.A not to entertain those lost vehicles which are not tagged by H.S.R.P. System. If this is made compulsory, Recovery of lost vehicles should be made compulsory by the consumers/vehicle users and assurance should be given by RTA.
3. The insurance of Private vehicles too cannot be made compulsory. Moreover, insurance firms are reluctant to part with money, making unnecessary long process of verification and authentication even in case of accident and theft. Insurance firms are making easy money in connivance with R.T.A. / Government, whereas insurance should be left to private choice.
4. Pollution Control is another area where mere collection of fee is made without the actual test of vehicles. Whether it is really utilized for control of pollution or restoration of healthy environment in some ways or not is very questionable.
These are some few examples where public money is systematically extorted by your R.T.A. under your policies. Please don’t ever make policies to fool people as people are now sensible to what is right and what is wrong.
