While thanking you and the government for the sanctions allotted to Mokokchung district for improvement of Imkokngmeren Sports Complex, I am compelled to bring the following astonishing facts to your honour kind notice in the hope that your honour will take immediate remedial steps to rectify or to cancel further constructions of wrong sports stadiums in the state, thereby saving the state’s coffer. Sir, being an ex-sportsman and a member of Old Boys Association yourself, you are well aware that all sports stadiums are constructed in an oval shape, round shape or square shaped building and is never constructed in rectangular shape. This standard is followed from geometrical point of view as such construction accommodates more spectators and more so because the viewing angle is made possible from all sides. But the indoor stadium under construction in Mokokchung is beyond description. In other words, Mokokchung may very soon find a place in the Guinness Book of world records to have the first rectangular indoor sports stadium in the world.
We are told that the up-coming stadium is meant for Basketball and Volleyball courts. Be that as it may, no basket or volley games can be played inside this astonishing and embarrassing stadium as the measurements do not permit and what’s more, against all logic, the galleries have been constructed at the rectangular ends. Sir, you have to see it with your own eyes to believe it. I as a sports fan and a member of Old Boys Association, earnestly pray for your immediate intervention in the matter to either rectify the wrong construction or to demolish it altogether in order to ensure that our state and specially this town do not become the laughing stock of the country owing to this amusing rectangular-shaped stadium.
