Every Naga tribe has its own unique history and though you compose your own versions one after another, the truth can never be diluted. To challenge each other by resorting to cheap media misadventures and uttering derogatory words without understanding its impact will bring nothing but shame. The Press and Electronic Media have Web Portals and one has to think of the perceptions and signals that the outside world gets about the Nagas. It is not only Beisumpuikam that Khahovi and Sazo are insulting, but it is an insult to the customary institution of the Zeliangrong people.
When the law is taking its course, let us maintain peace and respect for each other. Always remember that we all are to face each other on many other public platforms. You can always invite us to an open table conference and we will be there to clarify things officially for your knowledge and well-being.
Initially the name was Inavi Village, then Naga United Village and now Naga United Village Intangki ‘aka’ NUVI. Nothing but old bitter wine in new bottles, for changing your names will not change your identity. You may come in all sorts of colours, shapes and sizes but we know the wolves from the sheep. All Naga tribes are serving notices for encroachers to return to their original villages, why can’t Khahovi and Sazo accept the reality that they too must also return back to their native villages and not remain adamant on encroaching Ntangki Forestland.
If one proceeds from Dimapur, Jalukie Zangdi falls within Peren Constituency and Beisumpuikam falls under Tening Constituency and after crossing Beisumpuikam village, it is Ntangki National Park. Pathetically, after coming all the way and crossing the villages of two Assembly Constituencies namely Peren and Tening Assembly Constituencies, what business do the two of you have after crossing Beisumpuikam?
As long as the Government of Nagaland is serious about protecting the National Park, it will have a National character. But if any vested interest person, be it Khahovi or Sazo or anyone else for that matter try to exploit and occupy Zeliangrong land forcefully; remember, we will not part even an inch of our land come what may.
The Zeliangrong people are one; though residing in Assam, Manipur or Nagaland or any part of the world and we very well know our territorial boundaries, our neighbours- Nagas and non-Nagas. Why should NUVI worry about the land that belongs to the Zeliangrongs? Beisumpuikam, Jalukie, Tening or Peren- it’s none of their business. Zeliangrongs from any part of the world will settle in any part of our Zeliangrong motherland-which “our motherland” are you talking about?
And don’t question the integrity and rights of the people living in “NC Hills, Assam and Manipur”; you may be making more enemies. ‘ZPC Movement’ of the Zeliangrong has been kept in abeyance because we believe in the larger interest, the Indo-Naga Solution but your self-vested interest may bring fragmentation into the process. Don’t forget the curse that comes upon such traitors.
In your press release, you reiterate that you are “ready to settle permanently” inside Zeliangrong territory? Sorry, we the Zeliangrong people reiterate that we will not part an inch of our land even if the sky falls down. The world is progressing in a different direction; let us not roll back fellow brothers.
There is no question of “equal eyes” or “indigenous sons”, if you do not intend to push yourself inside the territory of other indigenous Naga tribes.
