Sub: Prayer for fair selection of Teachers on linguistic area, based on the fundamental principle of RTE Act 2009
Sir,
The Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU), while welcoming the ongoing teachers’ interview, would like to remind your competent authority to strictly adhere to the provisions of the RTE Act of 2009 in appointing and deploying teachers on the basis of Child’s-Mother tongue in the Elementary schools located within the Western Sumi Villages under Dimapur District. The WSSU is constrained to remind your authority with the fact that many non-linguistic teachers deployed in these villages had created vacuum in teaching learning process due to linguistic problem in the Western Sumi village schools. We are grateful to the RTE Act that ensures linguistic as medium of instruction/communication for better teaching-learning process and hopefully placing this representation to your authority for fair selection of teachers based on the laid principle.

The WSSU may be allowed to remind your authority that, the continuous problem in the education department and step-motherly handling of aggrieved teachers issue had tremendously damaged the basic education system in the shortage of teacher’s schools over the past three years, leaving children of underprivileged section to their own fate by the unresolved issues. The damage done to these innocent children by the callousness of the department will have life time ramification, which the department officials should holds responsible. The democratic steps undertaken by the WSSU urging the appropriate authority for the redresses of issue at the time in this context may be referred for your clarity.

Therefore, it is our ardent appeal to your competent authority to display all possible fairness in recruiting teachers on the Basis of RTE Act. Any attempt to deviating the laid principles of the RTE Act in the appointment/recruitment or intend to manipulate within the western Sumi villages elementary schools shall be opposed tooth and nail. Should there be any complication arises on the flouting of the basic act, the WSSU shall not held responsible whatsoever the action initiate by it deems fit in getting its constitutional justice.

Yours faithfully,

Daniel Sumi,
President, WSSU

Abeto Swu
General Secretary, WSSU
