Open letter to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Nagaland

Sir,
With due respect  we would like to express our appreciation and concern for the work of ‘Construction of Integrated Housing and Slum Development’ at Sweba/Viswe under the scheme JNNURM by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India with Department of Urban Development, Nagaland as the state implementing agency.

That Sir, we have learned from the Department that under this project, 63 dwelling units, one community center, 20 toilets, 940 meters of approach road, footpath, drainage and providing water supply to dwelling units are to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 3.64 crores. The Department of Urban Development had floated NIT in the month of March 2011 and accordingly a firm namely KLAS Enterprises was approved for allotment of work order for ‘Construction of Integrated Housing and Slum Development’ at Sweba/Viswe on 25th of March, 2011.

That Sir, however, even after the passage of almost a year, the contractor has not even laid the foundation for execution of the project at the selected site (Sweba). Sir, we would like to know from your respected authority the reasons behind the delay in execution of the project or whether the site of the project has been shifted or whether the funds meant for aforesaid project has been diverted for execution of other projects.

That Sir, the people of the area have been anticipating for the successful execution and completion of the project but there is no sign of any progress of the said project. Therefore, we would like to request your kind authority to see that the concern contractor executes the work as per the approved DPR and that the fund is utilized for the benefit of the deserving beneficiaries who comes under the category of the said project.

Thanking You.

Yours faithfully,
