Orangkong, December 28 (MExN): Orangkong Baptist Attoi commemorated it’s 75th Platinum Jubilee from December 26 to 28 at Jubilee Convention Hall under the theme “Jesus Christ, the Lord of History”. The Speakers of the event were N Tialemba Phom, Executive Secretary PBCA, Rev Dr Mar Pongener, General Secretary NBCC, Rev Dr L AnjoKeikung Former General Secretary NBCC.
A flag-hoisting ceremonywas hoisted by Rev Dr Mar Pongener, NBCC General Secretary. The unveiling of the jubilee monolith was conducted with God’s blessing, led by N TialembaPhom, Executive Secretary PBCA.
N Tialemba Phom, Rev Dr Mar Pongener, and Rev Dr L AnjoKeikung dedicated and opened the jubilee convention hall, invoking God’s blessing. H LeishaPhom, Convener of the Jubilee Planning and Organising Team, delivered a welcome address, thanking the 55 Phom community churches and all participants for attending the 75th Platinum Jubilee.
Bukchem Phom Former Minister & Former Chief Information Commissioner Nagaland spoke on “Conflict and Peace in Orangkong Before and After 1950”, highlighting the transformation of the Nagas and Orangkong people towards peace. Rongsenmeren, Pastor Changtongya Baptist Arogo, extended greetings and shared the story about the first pastor of Orangkong Baptist Church Imnatsudong Ao’s missionary work.
The guest Choir from Changtongnya Baptist Arogo, Longleng Town Baptist Church enthralled with special songs in two respective programs.
The jubilee celebrations were further graced by the presence of A Pongshi Phom, MLA 50 AC, Bangtick Phom MLA 49 AC, Deputy Commissioner Longleng W ManpaiPhom, SP Longleng Yanger Jamir, Phom Gazette Officer Association (PGOA) President Chaidok Phom, President Phom People’s Council (PPC) Y B Angam and other dignitaries.
Y Alongla Sangtam, NPS, Addl. SP (Security), spoke on Women in Leadership – Achieving an Equal Future, conducted by the OBA Women’s Ministry, while B Henok Buchem, NCS, DC Kohima, spoke on Youth in Leadership – Embracing Unique Gifts and Talents, conducted by the OBA Youth Ministry, as part of the Jubilee Convergence Programme.
Earlier, before the beginning of the jubilee programme, the thanksgiving hour with the Changtongnya Baptist Church began with the unveiling of a Mission Station monolith and a prayer at Chaujing Ling (morung) by Rongsenmeren Pastor, Changtongnya Baptist Arogo.
