Organisations mourn demise of WSH president

Dimapur, December 18 (MExN): The Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) on Thursday expressed profound sorrow and deep sense of loss at the demise of the Western Sumi Hoho president Shikaho Zhimo on December 16.

The WSYF, through a press update, described him as a guiding force and a unifying voice for the Western Sumi community, adding that his life was marked by unwavering commitment, quiet strength, and a selfless dedication to the cause of unity, justice, and the collective wellbeing of our people.

“Even in times of personal hardship, he remained deeply concerned about the aspirations and challenges of the community he so faithfully served,” it stated. 

At the same time, the Front extended its condolences to the bereaved family members. “We share in their pain and pray that they find strength, comfort, and solace during this difficult time. May the Almighty grant eternal peace to his departed soul and give courage to all of us to carry forward his legacy with sincerity and purpose,” stated the press release.

Western Sümi Kükami Hoho (WSKH): The WSKH stated that Lt Shikaho Zhimo was a visionary leader whose dedication to fostering unity amongst the Naga community and working for the welfare of the people inspired us all. 

“His tireless efforts and commitment to the cause of the Sümi people and the broader Naga community will be remembered for generations to come,” it stated.

Likewise, it maintained that his death is an immense loss, not only to the Sümi people but to the entire Naga community. 

Furthermore, it offered condolences and support to the bereaved family during this difficult time.

Nagaland Garo Tribal Council (NGTC):  The NGTC expressed deep shock and sadness at the demise of Lt Shikaho Zhimo. An update from the NGTC described him as respected leader among all sections of the society, who worked energetically and tirelessly towards the upliftment and betterment of his community in particular and the society in general.

The NGTC extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and pray that the Lord almighty gives strength to them to bear this irreparable loss.

Joint Council Forum: The Joint Council Forum comprising of Middle Point, Churches Colony and NST Colony expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Shikaho Zhimomi on December 16. 

“His exemplary leadership, dedication and service to the Sümi community and beyond will be remembered with great respect and gratitude,” stated the Forum. 

It further extended its condolences to the bereaved family and pray for comfort and strength during this time of loss.

At the same time, the Forum also conveyed its sincere appreciation to the business community within its jurisdiction for their positive and respectful response to the Western Sümi Hoho’s appeal for a voluntary half-day business closure on December 18 as a mark of honour to the departed leader.
