Dimapur, January 19 (MExN): Stating that the Union is seriously viewing the reluctance and failure of the Nagaland government to make the D.C's Headquarter functional till now, the Chakhroma G.B's Union today told the State Government that its patience is running low and it is ready to agitate against the government if necessary steps are not taken.
“The youth are ready to launch agitations against the government, but it is only with the intervention of the elders that the youth are being pacified and the situation kept under control till now,” the Chakhroma G.B's Union said in a press note issued by its President Thepfukedo Kuotsu and General Secretary Atso Gwizan.
Questioning the motive behind the delay, it wondered “Is the government hesitant to shift office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur to Chumoukedima?
In this context, the Union reminded the State Government that when Dimapur District was created and when Chumoukedima was proposed as the Headquarter, the people readily offered land and gave every possible support.
“But even after a lapse of all these years since the completion of the complex with all infrastructures, the office is yet to be shifted to the prepared site,” it added accusing the government of taking “undue advantage” of their good nature and congeniality and playing with the emotions of the people.
Consequently, G.B's Union asked the government to take “immediate steps” to make the Dimapur DC Office to functional from its Headquarter and not at its temporary camp at A.D.C's Office complex October avoid any future complication.
In a different note, the Chakhroma G.B's Union also expressed its appreciation to the the Ministry of External Affairs under the Government of India for opening the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) in Nagaland at the New D.C's Office Complex, Chumoukedima.
“The opening of the Kendra will certainly mitigate the plight of the Nagas, who till now, had to go all the way to Guwahati and other places to procure passports, spending much time and money,” it further mainitnaed.
