Outgoing DMC CEO clarifies to allegation

Dimapur, June 2 (MExN): Outgoing Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) Chief Executive Officer Imtirenla Jamir has refuted claims allegedly made by new DMC CEO Orenthung Lotha that the former refused to abdicate her official assignment.

Jamir issued a rejoinder today expressing surprise at the allegations leveled against her by “one of my own NCSA member and a junior colleague.” She called the charges ‘baseless, unfounded and misleading.’

The outgoing DMC chief clarified that she applied for a 10-day earned leave from May 31 to June 8 which was granted by the government on May 30. “But to my utter surprise, the CEO designate had alleged that I was even attending office on 31/05/2012 is a figment of wild imagination and a contradiction to his physical behavior,” the rejoinder stated.

“On the contrary, I was made to understand that on 31/05/2012, the CEO designate had personally come to DMC office and asked for the room key and open the CEO office chamber door and sat in the room and ordered the office Superintendent and staff to bring the office file number,” Jamir stated. She reminded that according to government notifications dated May 30 during the leave period the Additional Director of the Municipal Affairs Cell shall discharge the functions of the CEO, Dimapur.

“So, how come the CEO designate alleged that I have been reluctant to handover the charge of CEO, I was following the government order and going as per the norm mentioned in the order. Moreover, I was not in office on 31/05/2012 and how, I was alleged that I was functioning as CEO, DMC Dimapur on that day.  Therefore, the wild allegation of CEO designate and his going to the media can be best judged by public for their own conclusion.”
