DTF targets 30,000 doses by this week
WOKHA, JULY 6 (MExN): A total of 1000 beneficiaries received their COVID-19 vaccination dose during a special COVID-19 vaccination drive organised by District Task Force (DTF) Wokha on July 4.
An official release from the Chief Medical Officer’s Office, Wokha informed that the drive was held in all 13 COVID Vaccination Centres (CVCs) across the district.
The Deputy Chief Medical Officer and DPO (RCH/UIP) Wokha, Dr Zuben Kikon, in the release said that the vaccination drive was organsed in view of the low acceptance rate. The Block Task Force (BTF) along with Medical Department is also conducting awareness cum vaccination drive in all the five blocks to protect people from the disease, he informed.
Awareness on vaccination drive was also been disseminated to all the village council chairpersons through the district administration.
He further called for discrediting fake vaccine news, which is leading to vaccine hesitancy in the district and emphasized on sensitizing people on the benefits of taking the vaccine.
Dr Kikon also informed that the medical department is trying to reach the target of 30,000 doses by this week and also aiming for 100 percent vaccination in some villages.
Dr Renathung Kithan, Medical Officer, Bhandari CHC also reported that, a total of 641 beneficiaries turned up for the special vaccination drive in the block organised by BTF along with civil societies on July 4, as per the release.
