Over 300 residents benefit from mega service camp in Tseminyu

Kohima, November 16 (MExN): The Kohima District Legal Services Authority  (KDLA) in collaboration with District Administration Tseminyu organised Janjatiya Gaurav Divas (Tribal Pride Day), Children's Day, NALSA SAATHi & SAMVAD Campaign, 2025, Registration of Ration Cards, Job Cards, Aadhar Cards and Workshops on November 15.

The event comprises of Special Aadhar Drive along with other allied departments, DCPU Tseminyu conducted training program, free medical health camps, registration of ration cards.

More than 30 Job cards were registered. Panel Lawyers and PLVs of the Kohima DLSA gave counselling. More than 330 were benefitted from the special Aadhaar drive.

Tseminyu Deputy Commissioner, Japheth Woch urged everyone to respect tribal communities, support its development and ensure that every child whether from a village or town gets equal opportunity to grow.

Cheliam Khiamniungan, NJS Chief Judicial Magistrate & Secretary Kohima DLSA highlighted an insightful and meaningful presentation on child rights and matters relating to child rights, child welfare and how to protect the best interest of the child focusing on cases related to children in conflict with law in Tseminyu district since she is also the Member of Tseminyu JJB.

She further reminded the beneficiaries of their responsibility towards the child welfare and protection.

Mezivolu T Therieh, NJS, Principal District & Sessions Judge & Chairperson Kohima DLSA highlighted a comprehensive insights of the Saathi and Samvad scheme which mainly focuses on the weaker and marginalised sections of the society.

She gave insights on the importance of Aadhaar which falls under NALSA Saathi Scheme initiated nationwide by NALSA which aims to form district level units comprising key stakeholders who works for child rights.

Therieh highlighted SAMVAD Scheme 2025 which brings legal awareness directly to the community. It helps people understand the laws that protect them, ensures SC/ST Act and other protective laws are properly implemented. It teaches people how to claim benefits in education, jobs, and welfare schemes.

The programme was chaired by Kekhriengunuo Catherine Advocate & Panel Lawyer Kohima DLSA.
