Over 45,000 Inner Line Permits issued in Nagaland in 2025

Kohima, September 2 (MExN): Nagaland authorities issued a total of 45,319 Inner Line Permits (ILPs) between January 1 and August 21, 2025, the State Assembly was informed on Tuesday.
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister in-charge of Home and Border Affairs Yanthungo Patton provided the data in response to a starred question on ILPs. 

Of the total, 14,446 permits were issued to tourists, while 30,873 were for other categories.

The report also outlined renewal durations based on profession. Agricultural and other labourers, including masons, artisans, plumbers, and construction workers, receive permits valid for 165 days. Private sector employees, teachers, students, non-teaching staff, domestic helpers, drivers, and technical consultants get permits valid for one year. 

Priests, nuns, and employees of industrial and manufacturing units, LPG and petroleum outlets, and business partners are issued three-year permits. Students receive permits valid for the duration of their course. Traders may receive permits for 90 days or one year, depending on requirements.
