Tokai Yepthomi and Neamkoe S were crowned Mr and Ms Fresher 2026 respectively during the C-Edge College 14th Freshers’ Week on July 17.
Dimapur, July 17 (MExN): C-Edge College celebrated its 14th Freshers’ Week with a grand finale on July 17. The Freshers’ Week, which commenced on July 10, reaffirmed the college’s commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for new students.
The main event, held at the GK Auditorium, commenced with an invocation prayer by Lipokpenla Ao, followed by a welcome address from Wapanginla Ao, Dean of Management Studies, and a rendition of the college song ‘Believe In Him’ by the college choir.
In his keynote address, Rongmei motivated the freshers to take up space, own their voice and intellect, and assert their right to be heard, while urging them to raise questions and refuse to let complacency pass for wisdom.
A major highlight of the evening was the presentation of annual college awards, led by Daisy Shitio, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences. Khrozo-u Kapfo (BA) was honoured for securing the Nagaland University UG Rank 7th in the Department of Psychology, receiving a cash prize of Rs 5,000, while the Viwhesieno (Tsuno) Award for Girls Topper was bagged by Nikhuli Achumi (BBA) and Khrozo-u Kapfo (BA), each receiving Rs 5,000. The C-Edge Laurel Award (Even Semester) 2026 was conferred on students securing the highest GPA in their respective semesters.
Tokai Yepthomi and Neamkoe S were crowned Mr and Ms Fresher 2026 respectively during the Spotlight Walk, which was a key attraction of the event. Neamkoe S also delivered the freshman’s address on behalf of the BA I Semester batch, while Ningthuiliu Pamei (BA V Semester) shared words of encouragement on behalf of the seniors.
The audience was entertained with a musical performance by Tsutanso & Endtoli. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Tsushila Y, Assistant General Secretary of the C-Edge College Students’ Forum (CECSF).
