Painting workshop for children conducted

Dimapur, September 3 (MExN): A two days long painting workshop for children between age group of 8 to 15 years was organized by Sanskar Bharati- Nagaland Unit at St. Montessori High School – Dimapur on September 1 and 2. About 147 students from more than 10 schools of Dimapur participated in the workshop.
A press note received here informed that it was a part of the events under the Vision 2020 Plan of Sanskar Bharati Poorvottar which is in the process of organizing ‘Bal Kala Sangam’ - a three days long North-East Level Children Art Festival in the fields of Painting, Dance, Drama, Music and Literature from December 29 to 31, 2011 at Kalashetra – Guwahati.
Renowned painter and documentary film maker J P Das from Guwahati attended the workshop as the Chief Subject Matter Specialist for the workshop. Many prominent artists of Nagaland including –Walen Niba Jamir (Artist-Painting), Lanupongen (Artist - Sculpture), Kamal Das (Artist-Painting) etc also offered their expertise to the participants. A large number of dignitaries including Tanjan Zamir, Neena Dutta (Principle St. Montessori High School), Tabile Zeliang, Alok Paarikh, Pankaj Sinha, and Dr. Wilbo Zeliang also made their presence felt during the workshop and offered their knowledge and invaluable suggestions to the students and to the organizers as well. The participants and the dignitaries appreciated the efforts of Sanskar Bharati in their mission of promoting Art Education among the children.
The event was coordinated by Manoj Bhattacharya and Neeraj Soni (In-charge of Sanskar Bharati- Nagaland Unit).
