Longleng, September 30 (MExN): Pangshing Phom and Nyangtenphela have been crowned the title of Mr and Miss Phom 2023 during the grand finale held at Bautung Government Higher Secondary School Hall, Longleng on September 29. 

A total of 19 contestant participated in the grand finale. In the male categories, Longmei Phom bagged the 1st runner up winning both Mr Talent and Mr Ethnic Wear Subtitles and Konthah won the 2nd runners up title, who also won the subtitle of Mr Multimedia, a DIPR report stated. 

In the female categories, the 1st runner up was attributed to Nyuken while Lylen Mokho won the 2nd runners up title along with Ms Ethnic Wear Subtitle. Ms Talent was adjudged to Theiang and Chupong won the Ms Multimedia. 

Earlier, the programme started with invocation by Tenhau Phom, Associate Pastor for youth LTBC and Enyuh Phom, President, Lemja Organization welcomed the gathering. 

The event was graced by Ase Z Pongshi Phom, wife of Pongshi Phom, MLA 50 AC, Longleng as special guest. She opined that more than the outward appearance Inner beauty is the unfailing beauty, she encouraged the contestants to be wise in handling themselves, and that to be an achiever, one must always put God first and he will reward you. She exhilarated them to carry their masculinity and femininity as they venture into the larger world and they would be the true son and the true daughter of the soil. 

The event was organised by Yingla Welfare Society in collaboration with Lemja Organisation. The official choreographer was Moile Longkongly and David M Leinak, makeup artist- Angkali Kihoto Yeptho, Designer- B Liang Phom and Photographer -James Chakhesang. 

Manchai, Yingla D Menhahaü and Phythm and Groov enthralled the crowd. Tetne Hendok, General Secretary of Yingla Welfare Society pronounced the word of gratitude. The host for the event was B Pauloi Phom.
