Partial restoration of NH-29 near Kohima

Kohima, August 1 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima has notified that the affected section of National Highway-29 near the old KMC dumping site (Chainage KM 175.350) has been partially restored and will be opened to traffic under strict regulations with immediate effect. As per the order issued on August 1, movement of light motor vehicles (LMVs) and medical emergencies will be allowed from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, subject to weather conditions. However, the highway section will remain closed for all vehicles during night hours, and heavy vehicles including water tankers, paramilitary vehicles, and goods carriers will be completely restricted. Alternative routes have been arranged: LMVs may use the Jotsoma Bypass Road, while heavy vehicles (six-wheelers only) and district-bound or commercial traffic will be diverted through the Peducha Bridge-Tsiesema (10 Mile) route.
