The fifth edition of the three-day Campus Film Festival at Patkai Christian College (Autonomous) concluded on Saturday with activities extending beyond film screenings to the of storytelling, discipline and resilience, and honing skills.
Organised by the college’s Department of Mass Communication, the premiere calendar event of the college featured a mix of international, national and regional films alongside student-directed works, drawing participation from filmmakers, students, faculty members and visitors from outside.
Over the course of the three days, a total of 24 films were showcased, with a special screening for children held on the second day.
As per the organiser, the focus of the 2026 edition was translating theory into practice, with workshops aimed at building filmmaking and photography skills on first day and a film production session on the final day.
The filmmaking and photography workshop was conducted by Md Noor Alam, Sony C-Pro Specialist, and Saroj Kumar Dora, Sony Alpha Specialist, providing students with hands-on exposure to the technical aspects of visual storytelling.
The film production workshop by filmmaker Tyrel Reuben Lyngdoh from Shillong on the final day dwelt on various aspects of the craft and the importance of telling stories rooted in local realities.
The Co-Founder and Creative Producer at The Hillspeople Collective Meghalaya also shared insights on career pathways as well as other aspects of the profession.
Following the workshop, the festival continued with film screenings, with a key highlight of the final day being the presentation of Inclination by director Smriti Prakash Boruah and her team, which was officially selected for the Egyptian American Film Festival (EAFF) 2025.
The festival concluded with campus-based activities and interactions, including activities at stalls set up at the venue.
The festival was presented by TVS and powered by Kaffa Cafe, in collaboration with SONY, with Bingebox as the associate partner. Toppers Academy was the education partner, while We The Nagas served as the digital media partner.
Other contributors included Kinimi School of Music, Spicy Corner, TMS Bakery, King Chilli, Boba House, Bud and Bloom, Fusion, as well as the PCC’s BCA Department and the MA Political Science Department.
