Chümoukedima, February 7 (MExN): In a bid to create awareness and ensure youth participation at the upcoming ‘North Eastern Region Entrepreneurs’ (NERES) Summit 1.0’ to be held in the month of March, an awareness programme was conducted at Patkai Christian College (Autonomous) on February 7.
The programme was facilitated by the Department of Commerce, PCC and organized by Federation of Industry and Commerce of North Eastern region (FINER). The organization is conducting similar workshops in all the North Eastern states, stated a press release from PCC Mass Communication.
Tabrez Khan, Asst Manager-projects, FINER speaking as the resource person at the programme said that the Northeast have ample of opportunities in Agro based economy but lacks basic infrastructure.
Khan added the state of Nagaland has good scope in food processing and that some entrepreneurs from the state have already ventured into the field.
He also informed that the North Eastern region is the biggest exporter of Kiwi and APEDA has helped in exporting the products.
He urged the youth to take up entrepreneurship while adding that it can help them be job creators rather than seekers.
With the objective to inculcate entrepreneurial orientation among the people of North East, the workshop stressed on the importance of understanding the power of entrepreneurship.
It delved on the upcoming NERES Summit 1.0 to be organized by FINER in collaboration with Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship. The workshop was attended by students, faculties and staff.
