DIMAPUR, APRIL 11 (MExN): The NSCN (K) has demanded that School Education Minister, Imkong Imchen, pay back the Rs 71 lakh incurred on the examination arrangements made for students from four hill districts of Manipur. A release issued by “Cabinet Secretary,” Nitovi Aye, stated, “He (Imkong) has to pay back the amount to the Naga people.”
“In this connection, we want to teach Imkong Imchen a lesson that politics changes and that he cannot be always in power and that Isac and Muivah cannot enforce reign of terror in Nagaland forever.”
Asserting that “no amount of explanations and justifications for the crimes committed against the Naga people could be erased,” the NSCN (K) asserted that Imchen cannot be “absolved from the charges under any circumstances.” The statement further warned that the GPRN/NSCN has issued enough caution and objections to the move in the interest of the Nagas in general. “But Imkong openly defied it. Therefore, he will be answerable.”
Giving reason that “the entire Naga society is full of confusions due to the faulty policies and visions of many leaders,” Aye gave reason for the opposition against affiliation of the schools in the hill districts of Manipur to Nagaland Board of School Education. As such, according to the statement, the affiliation of schools would only add to complications “until and unless integration of all Naga areas is brought about.”
“The move was opposed by NSCN neither for the sake of opposition nor out of jealousy or hatred, but it was opposed with meaning. However, the plea of the NSCN was openly defied by the pseudo Naga NGOs and the Nagaland puppet government.”
Aye further stated he was writing not in his personal interest, “but it is the decision of our Government and organisation.”
