Phek | March 25 : In the light of detection of numerous number of ongoing business within the vicinity of Phek Town without possessing authorized permit from any concerned authority, the Phek Chamber of Commerce Institute (PCCI) in its council meeting firmly resolved to penalize those persons with stern action as would deem fit. Informing the Morung Express, PCCI general secretary, Khoseta Rhakho stated, numerous number of people dwelling from within Phek Town and other neighboring villages were practicing “flying business” whereby they sell commercial items from door to door. Rhakho stated that this is an offence indirectly, as it leaves the valid permit possessors of the town in running the affairs of their normal business at stake.

The PCCI sources revealed that, selling of second hand garments at own residence as part of their bi-weekly/weekly routine and door to door as well, has become the fashion in running the district head quarter town, revealed the PCCI and warned that any body caught in this regard shall dealt as per the resolution of the PCCI. It further cautions that any untoward incident meted out in this regard, the PCCI shall in no way be responsible of whatsoever rather the individual and companies shall be held the solely responsible.
‘The taxes we are paying to the concerned authorities and “well wishers-Nationalist functionaries” are being enjoyed by those sections of people who were no doubt to be termed as ‘flying business persons’, asserted Rhakho. While making a humble petition to those sections of people who were practicing such affairs, to restrain themselves in pursuing with the practice with immediate effect so as to avoid penalization, the PCCI said it would never be a mute spectator from now on.
The PCCI general secretary further reveals, “there is no doubt that the provisions implies only the permit holders to sell commercial items specifically permitted but to our utter surprise we were being victimized by those sections of people who do not possess valid permit” adding they never paid taxes under any circumstances.
Expressing its resentment over the concerned authority-the permit providers for paying a heedless intervention in such matter which is against the norms and criteria of the commercial establishment act, the PCCI further informed the district administration, Phek Town Council (PTC) advisory board to issue order banning of such with immediate effect, failing to fulfill the demands of the PCCI, it further warned that it shall take its course of action within the vicinity of Phek Town and added that any untoward incident meted out in this regard the PCCI shall in no way bear the responsibilities whatsoever.
