The Phek District Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised its first-ever award ceremony along with Advent Christmas 2025 celebrations on December 18.
PHEK, DECEMBER 18 (MExN): The Phek District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PDCCI) organised its first-ever award ceremony along with Advent Christmas 2025 celebrations at the Clock Tower here, coinciding with the concluding day of the PDCCI Annual Night Bazaar 2025.
The programme, titled “PDCCI Award Ceremony cum Advent Christmas 2025,” brought together shop owners, local vendors, young entrepreneurs and well-wishers in a festive setting that combined Christmas celebrations with the Night Bazaar finale.
PDCCI president Razoukhruyi Dozo, in his welcome address, described the event as a milestone for the business community in the district. He said the awards were introduced to encourage healthy competition among vendors and young entrepreneurs in areas such as customer management, cleanliness, hygiene, and shop presentation. He termed the inaugural edition an ice-breaking initiative aimed at familiarising participants with the concept as PDCCI works towards building a stronger local business environment in Phek.
General secretary Pio Veswu, speaking on behalf of the chamber, thanked the honoured guest, participants, local artistes, PDCCI members and well-wishers for their support. He also expressed appreciation for the cooperation extended during the PDCCI Annual Night Bazaar 2025.
Deputy Commissioner, Phek, Rhosietsho Nguori, NCS, who attended the programme as the honoured guest, lauded PDCCI for the initiative, stating that the blend of Christmas celebrations with the Night Bazaar created a positive atmosphere in the town. He underscored the role of the business community in strengthening the local economy and urged members to maintain quality service even during challenging times.
The award ceremony was conducted by search committee convenor Zachive Rhakho, who announced Dumpling Den, Tive Bakery, and Grocery & Drinks Depot as the three Best Performing Shops 2025, recognising them for customer service, cleanliness and creative presentation.
The programme also featured musical performances by local artistes Vamvelu, Meyiete, Aren, Sakulu and Nurile Anuri. The event concluded with a closing prayer by Khrusazo Nyekha, associate pastor, Phek Town Baptist Church.
