Kohima, March 9 (MExN): Poilwa FC and Nchangram Lun FC registered victories in their respective matches in the ongoing third edition of the Peren District Football League (PDFL) 3.0.
In the first match, Poilwa FC defeated Football Plus Academy 5–1. Poilwa took control of the game early, with SehGoulen opening the scoring in the 7th minute. The team doubled its lead in the 33rd minute after a penalty was awarded for a foul inside the box, which was converted by captain Ratobe N Poireng. Ngamminlun added the third goal in the 43rd minute to give Poilwa FC a comfortable lead going into halftime.
Football Plus Academy attempted to stage a comeback in the second half, but Poilwa FC extended their lead when Rangliakum, who was later named Man of the Match, scored a brace in the 60th and 65th minutes. Football Plus Academy managed to pull one goal back in the 79th minute through Lungdiak. Haominlen of Poilwa FC was shown a yellow card in the 50th minute.
In the second match, Nchangram Lun FC secured a 3–1 win over Kingdom Stewards. Nchangram Lun FC made an early impact, taking the lead in the 3rd minute through Kedinlung.
Kingdom Stewards attempted to regain control of the game but struggled to convert their chances. Nchangram Lun FC extended their lead in the 32nd minute when Poulin converted a penalty after a handball incident.
The second half saw Nchangram Lun FC add another goal in the 47th minute through Khangkinwi. Kingdom Stewards managed to score a consolation goal deep into stoppage time, with Irabeubo finding the net in the 90+3 minute. Wikedatlu of Nchangram Lun FC received a yellow card in the 41st minute.
Tuesday’s matches will see Mbaupunggwa FC take on Lekie Mtei FC at 1 pm, followed by Friends of Society facing Poilwa FC at 3 pm.
