PDVCO appeals for restoration of water supply

Dimapur, September 23 (MExN): In Phek Town the main source of water supply are from ‘Muchuru’ and ‘Laka’ stream. Muchuru stream is under Phek Village jurisdiction and Laka stream is under Ketsapo Village jurisdiction. The two neighboring village of Phek town has given permission and donated their stream to the citizen of the District headquarter.
A press note appended by Vekhoneyi Venuh, president and Veposu Nienu, joint secretary PDVCO informed that with the ongoing work for construction and widening of roads at Ketsapo village, the Laka pipeline has been damaged. In this regard, the PDVCO asked all the consumers of Laka steam in Phek town to bear the inconvenience.
The note stated that Phek town dwellers who consumes Laka pipeline are facing scarcity of water supply, because Laka treatment Plant to water reservoir at Phek town are not properly made. Therefore, the PDVCO has submitted a representation to DPDB Phek for division. At the same time, the board recommended to higher authority, but till date it is left undone. In the interest of the denizen of Phek Town, the PDVCO urge the concern department and Ketsapo village to work their best and to restore the water supply at the earliest for the welfare of the citizen of Phek Town. PDVCO in the note also lauds the new EE PHED Phek for his tireless efforts, who had received Governor Medal Award during Independence Day celebration 2011.
