Representative of the proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) Sadon K Blah today said the tripartite peace talks between the government and the outfit is going in the right direction.

“There is no negativity in it (peace talks) as everything is in a positive mode,” Blah, who is also president of the Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF), told reporters at the sidelines of a function to pay tribute to U Tirot Sing Syiem on his death anniversary.

He informed that the Centre, State and members of the HNLC have held a series of meetings adding “around 6-7 rounds of meetings were held officially and unofficially during the last one year”.

“Whatever discussion that was taking place, we did not find any negativity in the entire procedure except technical issues. We don’t look at technical issues in a very allergic manner but we look at those things, which are technical in nature to get them solved piece by piece,” Blah said.

He further maintained, “Once the peace process is on the right track there is no going back.”

Blah said, “The amnesty that was demanded after the official meeting with the Home ministry and from both the governments, they are working on it and pending clarification, we cannot comment any further on that.”

He also said that they are expecting that the next round of peace talks will be held very soon.

He said that AK Mishra, a representative of the MHA, still makes time to come despite his busy schedule.

Blah also expressed confidence that if not the entire process but the bigger phase of the peace talks will conclude likely within this year.
