Peren ASHAs receive training on pediatric COVID-19 care

Peren, September 1 (MExN): Training on Pediatric Care in COVID-19 and Psychological Wellness for Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) was conducted in Peren district from August 20 to 27. 

As part of the training, the Peren CMO establishment briefed ASHAs on the prevailing myths and misconceptions, danger signs, symptoms of COVID-19 in pediatric age group, and support mental health of children on how to stay healthy and safe, according to a press release from the District Media Officer, CMO Office Peren.

Along with this, ASHAs were trained on the various roles and responsibilities based on checklists for Surveillance and Monitoring by ANMs/ASHAs, care of mother and neonates born to COVID-19 positive mother, and Integrated Management of Neonatal and Childhood Illness (IMNCI) approach to pediatric COVID cases.

Altogether, 136 ASHAs were trained in the district and the district trainers were Dr Nuksung of Tening Community Health Centre (CHC), Dr Vezokholu of Athibung Primary Health Centre, Dr Rachel of Jalukie CHC Jalukie, Dr Reuben from District Hospital, and Community Health Officer Kamnanlyu of Nsong Health and Wellness Centre, Sekholu DCM, Ipungringle (BAC Sardar), Samzai (BAC Jalukie), Lhainephal (BAC Athibung), and Kewidinbile (BAC Tening), the release stated.
