Peren, January 6 (MExN): A two day youth camp organised by the Peren Baptist Mission at New Peren Village with Heleilak as the camp Convenor concluded on January 5.
Highlights of the camp includes workshop and seminar with four resource persons including Hiakie Hegui, SIM Director, Shillong, Rezulule, DSP, Phek, Rev. Suitei Ndang, Pastor, Peren Baptist Church, Old Peren, Rangro Herie, Education and Sunday School Secretary, ZBCC, and Keyirangding Hegui.
On the first day, Hiakie Hegui shared on the topic ‘Music the soul of life.’ He said life and music are two inseparable terms and the Joy of music can only be engaged by the living ones. Pointing out that Music is an art and people of different culture enjoy different kinds of music he said music has to be precise as it is the food of the soul.
While the other resource persons stressed and elaborated on the following topics- ‘Our society in an Age of Cultural Transformation’, ‘Surpassing greatness of knowing Christ,’ ‘Health is Wealth’ and the ‘Challenges and Roles of Youth’ during the various sessions.
Other highlights of the two day camp includes Competitions on various disciplines; Group song, Cultural dance, Bible Quiz, Talent Hunt, high jump, long jump, volleyball and indigenous game "Haopi" and extempore Speeches.
