Peren, September 19 (MExN): The Food Safety Wing under the establishment of Chief Medical Officer Office, Peren conducted an awareness programme on food safety at CHC, Jalukie on September 18.
The Chief Medical Officer cum Designated Officer, Dr. Denis Hangsing who chaired the programme highlighted on the Food Safety and Standards Act in brief and spoke on the importance of obtaining FSSAI license and registration to all Food Business Operators in the district and to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations of Food Safety and Standard Act.
The Food Safety Officer, Samlamgwanlie MIchui spoke on the awareness topics covering food adulterants, food adulteration and its ill effects on health, good hygiene practices on meat shops, bakeries, hotels, restaurants, improvement notice and legal action covering penalties and punishments.
The programme was attended by the ADC Jalukie, Dr. Tinojungshi Chang, Additional SP, Limaakum T. Jamir, OC Jalukie, P/S, Deputy DAO B. Imti Tzudir, Trader’s Union Jalukie, Jalukie Town Youth Organisation, Ward representatives and Food Business Operators of Jalukie.
