Peren-Dimapur 2-Lane Road Project launched

Dimapur, September 20 (MExN): A brief formal launching programme of 2-Lane Road Project Peren-Dimapur NH 129A (Pkg-2) by C Gopal Reddy & Company in collaboration with Hi-Tech Construction & Co (HTC&C) was held on September 20 at the base camp in Old Jalukie Village. 

A press release from HTC&C informed that event chaired by EAC Jalukie, Wangan Phom was attended among others by district administration officers, host of Civil Society Organisations and local leaders.

HTC&C Managing Director Kuchi R Zeliang, during the event expressed happiness that the dream of the “people of Peren District to have good roads is finally been realised with the project commencing,” it said. 

 He also disclosed that the package had passed through several hurdles during the tendering stage as it had to undergo cancellation of tenders twice due to the selected firms’ nonfulfillment of criteria laid down by NHIDCL, it added. 

 However, in the third attempt, CGR in collaboration with HTC&C participated and after due process, was selected and accordingly signed the contract agreement with NHIDCL, Zeliang said. 

He further sought support of the public and the different organisations for smooth and speedy execution and also assured the people of Peren District that CGR and HTC&C would complete the project within the stipulated period with quality. 

Also speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner of Peren shared on the importance of the road sector in the State and called upon the contractors to carry out the works according to the specifications without compromising the quality. 

The DC also called upon the local people to make the contractors and all the labourers, who had come from outside the State, to feel at home so that they can perform at their optimum levels, the release said. 

He also encouraged the contractor to perform exemplarily so that the other contractors involved in the other packages can look up to and make it a positive competition, it informed.   

The Presidents of the Zeliangrong Baudi (N) and Zeme Council Nagaland, who also addressed the gathering, extended their fullest support and cooperation on behalf of the people of Peren District, the release said. They also urged upon the contractors to work sincerely and without comprising the specifications mentioned in the DPR, the release said. 

ZCN president also requested the contractors to put up a signboard with all the details of the work and project so that the people passing by could see and appreciate the works carried out by them, it added.
