
Peren, April 19 (MExN): A meeting of the Peren District CHILDLINE Advisory Board (CAB) was held on April 18 at DC’s Conference Hall, Peren under the chairmanship of SDO (C) Peren, Kemciyile.
According to the State DIPR, at the meeting a short presentation was delivered by Counsellor, CHILDLINE Peren, Ganchuimei highlighting its activities, intervention cases, advocacy issues, visibility, and achievements from April 2021-April 2022.
It was followed by a review of the status of the previous CAB meeting agendas as well as discussion of the current agendas.
The agendas included translation of POCSO Act (2012) into local Zeme, Liangmai, Rongmei, and Kuki language; to conduct special drives against underage driving and regular checks near schools and town areas; to organize a one-day seminar on child rights and child protection with Community base organization and to conduct orientation and training for Village Child Protection Committee in collaboration with DCPU.
SDO (C) Peren, Kemciyile requested CHILDLINE team to coordinate with the departments and stakeholders for follow-up on the agendas discussed and implementation of the same, the DIPR added.
The meeting concluded with a note of gratitude from Collab Director, Akeina.
