Peren DPDB adopts Beisumpuikam as Model Village

Peren, April 6 (MExN): The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Peren, on April 6 approved the adoption of Beisumpuikam as a Model Village during its monthly meeting held at the DC’s Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB Peren, Hiazu Meru.

Placing the proposal before the house, the Deputy Commissioner informed that district officials had visited the village and observed it to be progressive, with two government schools having around 300 students each, along with other positive developmental indicators. The house approved the proposal and resolved that departments would extend necessary interventions. Committees were also constituted at district and sub-divisional levels for implementation.

The board also approved a Piggery Production Programme, noting the growth of piggery activities in the district, particularly in Jalukie Valley extending up to Punglwa village. A committee was formed to oversee its implementation.

Earlier, the house reviewed agendas from the previous meeting, including adoption of institutions, villages, and hospitals, and discussed their implementation status.

On cleanliness initiatives, the board acknowledged the Home Guards under the District Commandant Office for maintaining the cleanest surroundings and decided to constitute a committee to monitor such efforts across offices.

PowerPoint presentations were delivered by ADPM, DDMU (NSRLM), Ruuvilie Kuotsu and President, Oasis Federation, Jalukie Block, Joysi Rongmei. The Veterinary Department was assigned to present in the next meeting.
