Dimapur, Oct 4 (MExN): With the Government of Nagaland suspending all functioning of Pfutsero Sub-Treasury after some individuals fraudulently withdrew pension, the Pfutsero public continues to face difficulties. The Pfutsero Town Council has appealed to the State Government to lift the suspension so that public transaction can resume.
“The Pfutsero Sub-Treasury was stripped of its power of business transaction by the Government of Nagaland due to fraudulent withdrawal of Pension a few months back. The Government has every right to punish the officer/staff guilty of this embezzlement but the common public should not be made a scapegoat for this” stated an appeal from the Pfutsero Town Council issued through Ngulo Khupfu.
“The woes of the pensioners and salaried persons are really a cause of concern for all. The various departments under Pfutsero sub-division are unable to disburse salaries on time due to this. Further the security risks involved in transporting cash from Phek to Pfutsero are causing jitters to the various heads of department. In spite of repeated requests and submission of memorandums, the government has failed to address this crucial issue which in turn is causing untold misery to the general public in whole” informed the council.
Taking into consideration the serious nature of the matter, it has appealed Nagaland government to immediately affect restoration of the business transaction of Pfutsero Sub-Treasury office.
